Drought Overview
Water In West Texas
While wells can be found in and around Midland for residents, the vast majority of Midland's water comes from surface water, ground water, and reclaimed water. Our surface water sources include Lake J. B. Thomas, E. V. Spence Reservoir, and O. H. Ivie Reservoir. Our ground water sources include the Paul Davis Well Field, the T-Bar Well Field and the Ward County North Well Field. The Colorado Municipal Water District has our raw water production facility and it is the first of its kind in the country.
Drought Monitoring for Texas
